- Bag loose clothing and bedding if you can. It makes loading faster, but it isn’t required.
Where it goes
Donation centers generally can’t accept used mattresses, so most go to the landfill. Clean clothing and textiles are donated whenever possible.

Before we come
- Unplug and empty the fridge or freezer the day before, and leave the door open so it can defrost.
- Have water and gas lines shut off and disconnected before we arrive. Water heaters need to be drained.
Where it goes
Appliances are mostly metal, so they go to a scrap-metal recycler. Anything with refrigerant has it recovered first; that’s what the $40 Freon fee covers.

Metal (grills, mowers, patio frames) is recycled whenever possible, and tires go to a tire recycler. Loads of dirt, rock or sod are heavy, so they get special per-load pricing.

Teardowns (priced on site)
Before we come
- Hot tubs: drain it and have the power disconnected by a licensed electrician before we arrive. We don’t do electrical work. We cut the tub up on site.
- Empty sheds of anything you want to keep, and let us know about sprinkler lines or cables near the work area.
Where it goes
We take it apart on site, recycle the metal whenever possible and haul the rest. Every teardown is different, so the price is set on site before we start. Ask about availability in Richardson and Plano.

- Materials that might contain asbestos (some older floor tile, popcorn ceilings and siding) have to be tested first. We can’t haul asbestos.

Concrete, brick, tile and dirt are heavy, so they get special per-load pricing. Metal is recycled whenever possible, and the rest goes to a landfill that accepts construction debris. Ask about availability in Richardson and Plano.

No surprise fees
Recycling fees, spelled out
Almost everything is priced by the space it takes up in the trailer. Only these items add a fee, because they cost more to recycle safely. Any fee is on your written quote before we start.

Getting ready
There's not much to do
- Leave everything where it is. We carry it out from anywhere on the property, stairs included.
- Point out what goes and what stays. A sticky note on anything that stays works great.
- Leave room for a pickup and a 16-foot trailer at the curb or in the driveway.
- Put gate codes, parking notes and pets in your booking notes.
- Set paint, chemicals and fuel aside so they don't end up in the pile.
What we can't take
These need special handling that a junk hauler can't legally or safely provide.
- Paint of any kind, liquid or dried
- Chemicals, pesticides and pool chemicals
- Gasoline, motor oil and other fuels
- Propane tanks and other pressurized tanks
- Car batteries
- Asbestos, or anything that might contain it
- Medical waste and sharps
Not right now: pianos, pool tables and gun safes. We'd rather point you to a specialist than risk your home or the item.

Common questions about what we take
Do you take mattresses?
Yes, and there’s no extra fee for mattresses or box springs. They’re priced like anything else, by the space they take up in the trailer.
Is there a fee for refrigerators?
Yes, $40 per refrigerator, freezer or window A/C unit. The refrigerant has to be recovered before the metal can be recycled. The fee is listed on your quote before we start.
Do you take paint?
No, not liquid or dried. Your city’s household hazardous waste program takes it. The list above shows where to go in each city we serve.
Do I have to bring things to the curb?
No. We take items from wherever they are: attic, garage, upstairs bedroom or backyard. All the lifting and loading is included.
What happens to things that still work?
We set aside furniture and household goods in good shape and take them to local donation centers whenever possible. Metal and electronics go to recyclers.
What if my item isn’t on this list?
Text a photo and we’ll let you know. If it isn’t hazardous and it fits in the trailer, we can almost always take it.
