Before we come
- Drain it completely, ideally a day or more ahead so it can dry out.
- Power: we can unplug a plug-in tub. A hardwired tub has to be disconnected by a licensed electrician before we arrive. We don't do electrical work.
- Tell us if it's on a deck, sunk into the ground, under a roof or behind a narrow gate, so we can quote it correctly.
- Clear patio furniture and planters from the path if you can.
What it costs
Priced on site, before we start
Most hot tubs are $449: an above-ground tub that's drained, with the power off and clear access. That covers cutting it up, carrying it out, hauling, disposal and cleanup. Tubs on a deck, inside an enclosure, sunk into the ground or not drained take more work, so we quote those on site.
Every price includes labor and loading from anywhere on the property, hauling, disposal and a sweep-up. Your on-site quote is the most you'll pay. If it packs tighter than we estimated, the price goes down.

From $449 plus tax
An above-ground tub that is drained, with the power off and clear access. Decks, enclosures, sunken tubs or tubs that aren't drained are quoted on site. You get a firm price before we start, and that's the most you'll pay.

We look at the tub, the path out and the power setup, and give you one firm price before we start.

Cut into sections
With the tub drained and the power off, we cut the shell and cabinet into pieces small enough to carry through a gate.

Carried out and hauled
We carry every piece to the trailer, cover and steps included, and haul it all away.

Cleaned up
We pick up the debris and sweep the pad or deck where it sat.
Where it goes
- Metal parts, like the frame, pump, motor and heater, go to a scrap-metal recycler whenever possible.
- The shell, foam insulation, cabinet and cover go to the landfill.
Local rules
Can the city haul it instead?
Not in one piece. Even empty, a hot tub weighs hundreds of pounds, and curbside bulk pickup around here has weight and size limits:
- Garland
Crews won't collect individual items over 40 pounds.
- Rowlett
Republic asks that single items weigh no more than 50 pounds.
- Sachse
Loose debris has to be boxed, no bigger than 2 × 2 × 4 feet and no heavier than 50 pounds.
- Wylie
Single items are capped at 150 pounds, and loose debris has to be boxed.
- Heath
Home-project debris is limited to 1 cubic yard per pickup day, and contractor demolition debris isn't taken.
- Rockwall
Construction and remodeling waste isn't taken, and each pickup is capped at 6 cubic yards.
Cutting it up and hauling it yourself? The C.M. Hinton Jr. Regional Landfill at 3175 Elm Grove Rd in Rowlett is open to the public weekdays 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 7 a.m.–3 p.m., and charges by the ton. Rowlett households get two free trips a year with a Landfill Pass, and Garland's disposal sites add $20 for uncovered loads.
