- Unplug power recliners and lift chairs.
- Leave it where it is. You don't need to take it apart or move it to the garage.

What it costs
Pay only for the space you use
One couch is a single-item pickup. A few pieces, like a couch, a loveseat and some boxes, usually fit in a quarter trailer (from $259).
Every price includes labor and loading from anywhere on the property, hauling, disposal and a sweep-up. Your on-site quote is the most you'll pay. If it packs tighter than we estimated, the price goes down.

We look at what's going and give you a price before we lift anything. That's the most you'll pay.

We carry it out of the room, down the stairs and out the door, load it, and sweep up where it sat.
Where it goes
- Furniture in good shape goes to local donation centers whenever possible.
- Metal, like sleeper-sofa mechanisms, office-chair bases and bed frames, is recycled whenever possible.
- Broken, stained or worn-out pieces go to the landfill. Donation centers generally turn down damaged furniture.
Local rules
Can the city pick up my couch instead?
Often, yes, if you can get it to the curb on time and it fits the rules. Here's how bulky pickup works in the cities we serve. We're the better call when it's still inside, it's over the limit, or you don't want to wait.
- Rowlett
Weekly, on trash day, up to 2 cubic yards. Republic asks that single items weigh no more than 50 pounds. A couch alone is about 2 cubic yards.
- Garland
Weekly, on your green-cart day. Out no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before, front curb only. The city won't collect individual items over 40 pounds.
- Sachse
Once a month, up to 6 cubic yards. Items can go out no earlier than 48 hours before pickup.
- Rockwall
Twice a month, up to 6 cubic yards. City code doesn't allow discarded furniture to be stored outside, so it can't wait in the side yard.
- Heath
Weekly and free on trash day for furniture, mattresses and box springs. Out by 7 a.m.
- Wylie
Once a month, on a Saturday, up to 4 cubic yards. Single items up to 150 pounds, and nothing out before the Friday before.
- Murphy
Weekly, up to 4 cubic yards, stacked next to your carts by 7 a.m.
- Richardson
You have to request a BABIC pickup by midnight the night before, and the city asks residents to keep it to about 8 requests a year.
- Mesquite
Weekly, up to 8 cubic yards. Out no earlier than 24 hours before pickup, front curb only.
- Dallas
Once a month, for houses and duplexes only. Set out Thursday to Sunday before your collection week; setting out early can bring a fine of at least $150.
- Plano
Once a month, on your zone's bulky day. Each pile can be up to 6 × 4 × 4 feet.

Couch & furniture removal: common questions
How much does couch removal cost?
One couch is a single-item pickup, which starts at $119. A few pieces are priced by the space they take in our 16-yard trailer; a couch, a loveseat and a few boxes is about a quarter load (from $259). You get a firm price on site before we start.
Are there extra fees for furniture?
No. The only items that add a fee are refrigerators, freezers and A/C units, tube TVs and tires. Furniture is priced by the space it takes, nothing else.
Do I need to move it to the garage or curb?
No. We take it from wherever it is: upstairs, the back bedroom or the game room.
Can you take a sleeper sofa or a sectional?
Yes. Sleeper sofas are heavy because of the metal bed frame inside, and that metal is recycled whenever possible. Sectionals come out one section at a time.
Will you donate my furniture?
Whenever possible. Pieces in good shape go to local donation centers. We can't promise a charity will accept a specific piece, and damaged furniture goes to the landfill.
Do you take pianos, pool tables or gun safes?
Not at this time. We'd rather send you to a specialist than risk your home or the item.
