What it costs

Priced on site, before we start

Teardowns are priced on site based on the size of the structure, what it is made of, and how easy it is to reach. You get a firm price before we start, and it includes taking it down, hauling it away and cleaning up.

Every price includes labor and loading from anywhere on the property, hauling, disposal and a sweep-up. Your on-site quote is the most you'll pay. If it packs tighter than we estimated, the price goes down.

We look at the structure, what it is made of and how we’ll get it out, then give you one firm price.

We take it apart and cut it into pieces we can carry out through the gate.

Haul and clean up
We haul it all off and clean up the nails, screws and debris it leaves behind.

Before we come

Check with your city and HOA about permits, especially if a new fence or deck is going in.
If a fence is shared with a neighbor, talk with them before it comes down.
Tell us about any wiring, like deck or landscape lighting, and have it disconnected first. We don’t do electrical work.
Clear off anything you want to keep: planters, furniture, toys.
Unlock the gate, and keep pets inside while we work.

Where it goes

Metal, like chain-link fencing, playset hardware and trampoline frames, goes to a scrap-metal recycler whenever possible.
Wood from decks, fences and playsets goes to a landfill that accepts construction debris.

Local rules

Can the city take it instead?

Not usually. A deck or fence is construction debris, and bulk pickup is built for household items:

Dallas
No construction or demolition debris.
Rockwall
No construction or remodeling waste, and no fence posts set in concrete.
Heath
Contractor demolition debris isn't taken, and home-project debris is limited to 1 cubic yard per pickup day.
Garland
Crews won't take single items over 40 pounds, and remodeling debris can go out only four times a year.
Wylie
No construction or remodeling debris.
Sachse
Loose debris has to be boxed, no bigger than 2 × 2 × 4 feet and no heavier than 50 pounds.
Rowlett
Contractors have to haul off their own debris, and single items should weigh no more than 50 pounds.
Mesquite
Hauling it yourself? The Citizens Convenience & Recycling Center on Lawson Rd takes fencing and lumber free once a month for residents.

Deck, fence & playset removal: common questions

Do you remove hot tubs and sheds too?

Yes. Each has its own page with prep steps, pricing and local rules: see hot tub removal and shed removal.

Do you remove concrete footings or fence posts set in concrete?

Tell us about any concrete when you book. Footings and pads are quoted separately, and we'll walk through them with you on site.

What about older structures and asbestos?

We can't remove materials that contain asbestos. Some older sheds and siding may need to be tested first.

Do I need a permit?

Rules vary by city and HOA, so check with yours before we schedule a teardown. We're happy to help you figure out what to ask.

Do you build the new fence or deck?

No. We take the old one down and haul it away, so your builder can start fresh.

Can you take down just part of a fence?

Yes. Show us which sections go, and we'll quote them on site.
