How much does junk removal cost in the Dallas area?

Straight numbers for the Dallas area, from Rowlett and Garland to Plano and Rockwall: what we charge, what changes the price, and what your other options cost, from free city pickup to a dumpster.

The short answer

Most jobs cost $119 to $649 plus sales tax. One item is $119. A full 16-yard trailer, about a one-car garage cleanout, is $649. Refrigerators, freezers and window A/C units add $40 each. Book online and it's $20 less.

For context, Angi's national cost guide puts the average junk removal job at about $241, with most between $60 and $700 or more.[1]

Priced by how much of the trailer you fill

You don't pay by the hour or by the item. You pay for the space your things take up in our 16-foot trailer (16 cubic yards), and every price includes loading, hauling, disposal and a sweep-up.

  • Single item

One couch, one mattress or one treadmill, carried out from anywhere on the property.

    from $119

  • ¼ trailer 4 cubic yards

    A couch, a loveseat and a few boxes. About 2 pickup-truck loads.

    from $259

  • ½ trailer 8 cubic yards

A master bedroom: king bed, two dressers, nightstands and a TV. About 3 to 4 pickup-truck loads.

    from $419

  • ¾ trailer 12 cubic yards

    A packed 5×10 storage unit. About 5 to 6 pickup-truck loads.

    from $549

  • Full trailer 16 cubic yards

    A typical one-car garage cleanout. About 6 to 8 pickup-truck loads.

    $649

Plus sales tax (8.25% in most cities we serve), shown as its own line on your quote. Example: a full trailer is $649 + $53.54 tax = $702.54.

For comparison, Angi's national ranges are $100–$200 for a couch, $75–$150 for a mattress, $50–$150 for a refrigerator and $200–$600 for a hot tub.[1] Wood sheds, decks and fences vary too much by size and build for one number, so we price them on site. Add up your own load in the estimator →

What changes the price

  • How much space it takes. This is most of it. A couch takes about 2 cubic yards; a full garage can fill the whole 16-yard trailer. See what fits.
  • Weight. Concrete, dirt, brick, tile and shingles fill the trailer by weight long before they fill it by space, and landfills charge by the ton. Heavy loads are quoted on site.
  • A few recycling fees. $40 per refrigerator, freezer or window A/C unit, $35 per tube TV or monitor, and $15 per car or light-truck tire ($35 for bigger tires). Everything we take.
  • Taking something down. Hot tubs, sheds, decks and fences include the work of taking them apart.
  • Sales tax. 8.25% in most cities we serve, added on its own line.

What doesn't change it

  • Stairs, attics and long carries
  • Taking things apart to get them out
  • Mattresses and flat-screen TVs (no fee)
  • How long the job takes: we price the load, not the hour
  • Loading, hauling, disposal and the sweep-up

Your on-site quote is the most you'll pay. If everything packs tighter than we estimated, the price goes down.

Your options, and what each one costs

Hiring us isn't always the cheapest way. Here's an honest look at all four.

City bulk pickup

Free, within your city's limits

Most cities around here pick up bulky items on a schedule, if you get them to the curb on the right day and follow the pile rules. Over the limit costs extra; Dallas, for example, bills $60 per 5 cubic yards.

Good for: a few items you can move yourself and that can wait for pickup day.

Haul it yourself

Free for some residents, otherwise by weight

Garland and Sachse residents can drop household trash at the Hinton Landfill in Rowlett for free, with a driver's license and a utility bill. Rowlett households get two free trips a year with a Landfill Pass. Everyone else pays by the weight of the load.[3] Cover the load: Garland's disposal sites add $20 for uncovered loads.

Good for: small loads, if you have a truck, a tarp and a helper.

Rent a dumpster

About $392 a week in Dallas

Angi puts the typical Dallas rental at $305–$497 a week, and a 20-yard dumpster at $350–$900. Overweight loads add about $50–$200 per ton.[2] You do all the loading, and it sits in your driveway, so check your HOA's rules first.

Good for: remodels that make debris over several days.

Full-service junk removal

$119 to $649 plus tax with us

We carry everything out from wherever it is, load it, haul it, and sweep up. You get a firm price before we start, and it's done in one visit.

Good for: heavy or awkward things, anything still inside, or when it all needs to be gone at once.

Ways to spend less

  1. Book online

Booking through our website takes $20 off your on-site price. Single items are $119, or $99 booked online.

  2. Set it out curbside

If everything is at the curb, in the driveway or in an open garage when we arrive, it's $30 off ($15 on a single item). The two discounts combine.

  3. Use city pickup for the small stuff

If you can get it to the curb and it can wait, your city's bulk pickup is free within its limits. Find your city's rules.

  4. Do it all in one visit

Your price comes from the total space, so one visit for everything costs less than two half-empty ones.

  5. Donate the good stuff yourself

Habitat for Humanity's ReStores in Garland and Dallas offer donation pickup for furniture and appliances in good shape.

  6. Break down boxes and bag loose items

Things that pack tighter take less room. If your load packs tighter than we estimated, the price goes down.

  7. Get a ballpark first

Text us a photo and we'll send back a price range before anyone drives out.

Junk removal cost: common questions

How much does junk removal cost in the Dallas area?

With Texas Junk Crew, most jobs cost $119 to $649 plus sales tax: $119 for a single item and $649 for a full 16-yard trailer, about a one-car garage cleanout. Nationally, Angi puts the average junk removal job at about $241, with most between $60 and $700 or more.

Is sales tax included in the price?

No. Texas taxes junk removal, so sales tax (8.25% in most cities we serve) is added as its own line on your quote and invoice. For example, a full trailer is $649 plus $53.54 tax, or $702.54.

Do stairs, attics or long carries cost extra?

No. Every price includes the labor to carry things out from anywhere on the property, stairs included, plus hauling, disposal and a sweep-up.

Why do refrigerators cost extra?

Refrigerators, freezers and window A/C units hold refrigerant, which has to be recovered before the metal can be recycled. That's the $40 Freon fee. It's listed on your quote before we start.

Is it cheaper to rent a dumpster?

Sometimes. A dumpster averages about $392 a week in Dallas, according to Angi, but you do all the loading, it sits in your driveway, and heavy loads can add overweight fees. It's often the better deal for a remodel that makes debris over several days. For a one-time cleanout, compare it with a full-service quote: we do all the loading, and it's gone in one visit.

How much does hot tub removal cost?

With us, $449 plus sales tax for an above-ground tub that's drained, with the power off and clear access. Tubs on a deck, inside an enclosure, sunk into the ground or not drained are quoted on site. Angi's national range for hot tub removal is $200 to $600.

Can I get a price before you come out?

Yes. Text a few photos to (214) 225-0878 for a ballpark range, or use the estimator on our Pricing page. Your firm price comes on site before any work starts, and that's the most you'll pay.
